Welcome
There is a bit of strategic nudity occasionally and I write as I feel the sims would talk so there is also "adult language." (that makes me laugh.....so how adult am I?) Anywho, you've been warned!

Grand Opening
Craig Ray is the current principal/teacher until a fulltime teacher is hired.
PVES is located in the Pleasantview suburbs and is dedicated to quality education of Pleasantview's youth. The school has a music/art room, library, and classroom where students can gain the skills they need to be successful upon graduation.School begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. Students arrive on campus and head to their assigned classes for the morning. Students have lunch at noon and then head off to their afternoon classes and depart for home at 3:00 p.m.
Kayden Erikson looks on as Arlena McGaw composes music on the synthesizer. The art/music room also had an activity table for building logic and painting pictures, easels, and a violin. This is room is very popular among the students. Jalice Love, Katelyn Curtin, and Isaiah Gavigan head into the library to begin their study session. Library time is scheduled in so that the students can enjoy reading for leisure or can study select skills.Isaiah and Jalice opt to play a spirited game of chess instead of reading or working on the computers. Students usually arent too good at chess upon first entering PVES, but with practice, become very skilled at it.
Katelyn decides to study while in the library. While this is a scheduled period, students get to decide how they will spend their time while here. That is, as long as they are doing something educational!Ashlee Wade and Gallagher Newson are in the classroom doing gradework. While this is the students' least favorite activity, it is very important that they finish their gradework as it affects the grade they will receive! Craig Ray (not pictured) tries to make gradework as fun as he can.Thursday, July 23, 2009
They Grow Up So Fast!
Craig is 48, Kasha is 42, Tyler is 15, Ryder is 2, Christa and DeAndre McMillan are 21
Narrated By: Craig Ray
I can't believe I'm almost 50 years old! I'm turning into "that old guy." Where have the years gone? Christa's off at school and a mother and Tyler will be headed off to college soon......geez! Pleasantview has come under a new government, and while most residents seem to be pissed about this, it doesn't really bother me. Do I WANT to pay taxes? Of course not! But I would like to know that if the city needed something, it would be there. It doesn't hurt that Mayor Harris has named me Director of Education and put me in charge of Pleasantview Elementary School (PVES). I think that this is all going to work out pretty well for everyone if we can simply come to terms with it.

Rules & Regulations
Aging
So like most blogs I have seen, I'm organizing my aging behind Lakeside Heights, which is explained here. Basically everyone ages two years per round and I play each family for one month during those two years. I will switch up the months so that one family will not get stuck with the same month. I play each college for two years broken up into 4 different updates.
baby: 0-1
toddler: 1-3
Child: 4-11
Teen: 12-18
YA: 19-22
Adult: 23-60
Elder: 60+
At the moment, I'm still deciding who, in addition to in-game born sims and sims of my creation, I will keep as playables and who will become townies. When it goes beyond 24 households, then families will double up on the month they are played. I have the postponed silver years hack installed which means that my adult stage lasts for 42 days instead of 28 and my elders don't live as long.
My rounds begin in August and end in July 2 years later.
Taxes & Fees
Taxes are paid at the beginning of each round. I only take a property tax because as of right now, I don't have the patience to calculate individual income taxes! Each household pays 15% of the value of their property, belongings, and bank accounts. I get this amount from the neighborhood screen. Married couples get a credit of $1500 and everyone one gets $1000 per dependent. Dependents include children, college students, and any adult that may be living with the sim who they take care of (i.e. elderly parent or grandparent). The total amount collected is then doubled to account for all the townies, downtownies, and NPCs that also use city facilities. Out of this city budget come money for new city buildings and facilities, events, parks, etc.
Fees charged by Pleasantview include but are not limited to:
Marriage
Marriage license: $500 (required for all marriages/unions)
Home Ceremony: Free
Additional Venues
City Hall (Marriage only): $500
City Hall Banquet Hall (Full ceremony): $1000
The Lord's Heart Church (PV Suburbs): $1500
LaQuest Beach Community Church: $2000
Divorces are $1000 ($500 per party) and divorce proceedings will include custody and dissolvement of marital assets.
Funerals are $500 for a basic burial and $1000 for a memorial service.
Adoption
Baby: $5000
Todder: $2500
Child: $1500
Fertility Treaments: $2500; for women over 40 who have tried at least twice.
Education
PVHS and PVES are public schools and therefore free. Any parent wishing to enroll their child into private school will pay $1000 per school year.
Sim State University is state owned and there for education can be offered at a reduced price. A four year degree from Sim State is $8000 ($1000 per semester). It can all be paid in one lump sum or $2000 a year.
Academie Le Tour is a private university. Cost of attendence is $16000 which can be paid in one lump sum or yearly at a rate of $4000 a year.
La Fiesta Tech is a state owned college offering degrees in more technical fields. Cost of attendence is $6000 that can be paid in one lump sum or $1500 a year.
I have the no 20000 handout hack installed so:
A University student is awarded $5,000 for graduation, Magna Cum Laude.
$1,000 for graduation, regular.

Welcome to the View
Rotation 1 - August 2009
Robert is 31, Regina is 28, and Jason is 13
Narrated by Robert Harris
I can't believe my luck! I never thought I would leave Simlifornia, but when you're offered the job of mayor, you don't turn that down! I'm Robert Harris, the first mayor of Pleasantview. How can a town exist without a governing body? The president of Simerica wondered it as well! Pleasantview has been around for many years, functioning off of money given to it. But no more! Our great President has decided that a city as big as Pleasantview with as many subdivisions as it has, should have its own governing body and accumulate its own wealth. And that's where I come in!
I'm young, but I've been around politics my whole life and I am so glad that I've gotten this opportunity. One of my first orders of business is to build a city council made up of sims from different departments within the city. You know, education, the police, etc. I'm also enforcing tax laws in which collection of taxes will begin this month. I'm sure I won't be very popular at first because of this, but Pleasantview is broke, and it's not receiving any more handouts!

A New Outlook
A New Chapter
*I know this was a bit long and a bit rushed, but I got so behind with pictures when I was posting Taj's story.......I should be back up again soon! And FYI: ACR is crazy! They're so hormonal now!
